james bond house cebu

The Concept Design for the James Bond House was originally designed in Oct 2014. The brief was an architects dream come true. Unlimited budget, challenging sloping site in Cebu, young edgy and stylish clients with the desire to create a modern, minimalist box for their home. The resulting design is in stark contrast to the Spanish villa vernacular of the Cebu Hills area but sensitive to the topography of the land and the environment. From the projects onset, the clients were on-board with our vision, excited by the design and loved the architectural style that we were proposing. It made you feel pretty damn good about being an architect and thoroughly enjoying the collaborative Design Process. Typically, this kind of smooth design process, just doesn’t happen. But sometimes dreams don’t fully come true and need a little bit of Value Management. Not a bad thing in the scheme of things but essential to turning the vision into reality.

We were very happy to hear this week the project is forging ahead and following review of the local architects drawings pleased to see the Design Intent was respected in the modifications to the Schematic Design.

Looking forward to seeing this one progress.

12 help street chatswood

The property market is going gangbusters in Sydney and the Sydney surrounding suburbs. Some of the work I’ve currently been involved in is preparing IM’s (Information Memorandum’s) and Concept Design Reports for Clients and Real Estate Agents, to help them understand the full potential of their development. We work together to come up with a strategy, maximizing the sites potential and creating a Vision. The site can then either be sold or developed by the clients themselves. Below is a write-up prepared for the sale of 12 Help Street, Chatswood and CGI images of the building designed for our client and CI Australia.

12 Help St is an exciting opportunity in the heart of Chatswood. The site offers the potential to contribute to the growing CBD skyline, promoting tall buildings along the rail corridor. It is conveniently located close to transport links to the Sydney CBD and only a few minutes away from Chatswood Station, Specialty Retail, Restaurants, Markets, Parks and the Pacific Highway. Future redevelopment offers the purchaser the chance to create a landmark destination. Potential arises for an iconic tower, 38 levels in height, with an FSR currently not utilised at 10.5:1.This unique opportunity allows for a variety of programs including commercial, residential, retail, hotel and serviced apartment uses, in a thriving Chatswood market.

aqualand’s “lindfield village” sales fury

Aqualand’s signature residential development named “Lindfield Village”, has experienced extraordinary high sales since its launch earlier this month. A sales fury, occurred during the opening Saturday of the marketing campaign, with over 90% of the 88 apartments sold within 2 hours. Over 100 apartments have now been sold and the investor and home owner market is nervously waiting for the final trench of 40+ apartments to be released. The fast sales are testament to a successful collaborative design alliance between Crone Architects and the Aqualand Development team. Good design, perfect location and a highly professional marketing campaign have proven a winning combination.

Some images below of the Development.

lindfield village launch

Aqualand launched their first, signature project in Australia, Lindfield Village, to a packed and buzzing audience last night. The marketing suite opens this weekend and the expectation is the first roll out of 88 apartments will be sold by the end of the weekend! Better get in fast. Sydney’s under supply of residential dwellings, Leading Design by International Architects Crone Partners and the sites premier location close to a railway station, parks and convenience shopping, make this development extremely attractive to both local and overseas buyers.

what does a james bond house look like?

Modern, clean lines. Minimalist detailing with huge concrete cantilevers. A large entertainment deck, with a sleek wet edge pool for the parties. Glass and Steel. Walls that fold away, slide and pivot. Framed views and vistas. Exaggerated vertical spaces, fast cars and opulence.

This is a fun job!
